This Website is a tribute to the dogs and the people that set the stage for Dreamweaver Boxers.

The People

My sister Patti brought my first dog, Portia, for me in 1976 as a birthday gift. When I lost Portia, she bought me a second birthday boxer, Lucy. She then told me of a house she had seen in town with a yard full of boxers. That house turned out to belong to Perry and Sandi Combest.

Perry and Sandi have been my mentors and dearest friends ever since I knocked on their front door to ask about their dogs. I couldn't believe it! Lucy, it seemed, was a Ch. Marburl's Joshua granddaughter and they owned Ch. Har-Vel's Gold Express, a Josh son! A breeding of the two gave me three girls: Gold Thread, Renita de Oro, and Delila's Delight. Two became champions and Gold Thread and Delila's Delight became the foundation of all of my dogs after I bred each of them to the great Ch. Rochil's Grande Marshall.

Michael Shepherd was next on the scene when he finished my first champion, Sophie, and "specialed" Ch. Dreamveaver's Grandestand. He later co-owned Grandestand and through her, co-bred 2 champions with me.

Lori McClain became a great friend when she purchased Gold Lace. She continues to motivate and make me strive for excellence in everything I do. My eternal thanks to her for making my dogs look spectacular in the ring and for sharing her knowledge.

Velda Rounsaville (Har-Vel) and Rufus and Mary Francis Burleson (Marburl) gave me a solid foundation to build on and have remained supportive, good friends through the years.

Last, but certainly not least, is my husband, Bob, who has made it all possible. He even gave me my kennel name, Dreamweaver, thinking it would incorporate the dogs as well as the weaving and spinning I was doing at the time. Always a champion of the underdog, Bob has found his calling in rescue work.
